Job overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate PYP Maths Teacher to join our dynamic international teaching team. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of primary teaching experience, strong knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), and a commitment to delivering high-quality, inquiry-based mathematics education.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote the mission and philosophy of the school.

  • Establish a safe, purposeful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

  • Promote the progress, well-being, and holistic development of students.

  • Inspire and motivate students to set high expectations for their own learning.

  • Supervise students in and out of classroom activities as part of curricular and extracurricular school programmes.

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Work collaboratively with year-level and subject colleagues to develop engaging, inquiry-based PYP Maths lessons and units.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to support academic and personal growth.

  • Plan interactive, stimulating, challenging lessons and maths-related clubs.

  • Use the school’s planning systems (including the IS tool) to develop units of inquiry and submit plans by required deadlines.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of varied learner profiles.

  • Integrate technology meaningfully where appropriate within the PYP framework.
    Demonstrate ambition, reflection, and continuous improvement in all aspects of teaching.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding student needs and curriculum matters.

  • Substitute for colleagues when required.

Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting

  • Provide regular, meaningful feedback to guide student progress.

  • Implement ongoing assessment using the school’s chosen methods and systems.

  • Analyse assessment data to identify students who need further support or challenge.

  • Set ambitious learning targets to ensure continuous progress year on year.

  • Produce professional, informative reports for parents by required deadlines.

  • Meet with parents/guardians as needed to discuss student progress and support strategies.

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by your Line Manager.

Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral care and general well-being as a class teacher or subject teacher.

  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment in line with health and safety school procedures.

  • Attend scheduled duties or arrange appropriate cover when necessary.

  • Communicate with relevant staff and parents regarding student welfare concerns.

Activities Beyond the Classroom

  • Support wider school life beyond the classroom.

  • Attend year-group or subject-based residentials where required.

  • Participate in at least one school committee annually, contributing to events, celebrations, and thematic weeks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, teaching credential) preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years of primary teaching experience, preferably in Maths within the PYP framework.

  • Knowledge of best practices in primary Maths instruction.

  • IB PYP training or certification is highly desirable. 

  • Experience with or knowledge of the British National Curriculum is an advantage.

  • Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners.

  • Strong understanding of PYP Maths curricula and assessment expectations.

Skills

  • Ability to design and implement engaging, inquiry-based maths lessons.

  • Strong collaboration skills with teachers, leadership, and parents.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.

  • Ability to inspire and stimulate student curiosity and confidence in Maths.

  • Strong organisation, communication, and classroom management skills.

  • Proficiency with digital tools that enhance learning.

  • Fluency in English (C1–C2).

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:00

Recruitment Process

  1. Hiring Team Panel Interview (30 minutes)

  2. Trial Lesson (60 minutes)

  3. Interview with the Head of School, Principal of Primary, and Head of Faculty (30 minutes)

Our Campus

Currently we are operating in a temporary campus, opened in September 2022 which includes 3 areas: Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary School as well as outdoor sport courts, playgrounds, canteen, 2 art studios, 2 music rooms and 2 libraries.

Future Campus

Drawing inspiration from renowned educational projects worldwide and working in collaboration with one of the leading architectural bureaus, we are about to shape the future of our school. Among other features, the permanent campus will include 5 laboratories, 2 art studios, swimming pool, sports base for both indoor and outdoor activities and much more.
