Exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant and dynamic international school in the UK capital city. We are currently looking for full time Primary Homeroom Teacher to join the International School of London.  


The International School of London was originally founded in 1972 and was amongst the first schools in the country to offer the International Baccalaureate programme. The school is currently growing and a number of new initiatives, including the recent renovation of the buildings and facilities, are underway. There is a strong commitment to the on-going professional training of all staff and for providing leadership development at all levels. 


You would join an exciting and successful Primary School team with an established IB Primary Years Programme and an inquiry based, international curriculum that is delivered and planned in a truly collaborative manner. The Primary School is developing several technology initiatives and the successful candidate would be ideally placed for involvement in these innovations and able to make lasting contributions to the school. 


Skills, qualifications and experience needed  

• The ideal candidate will have: 

• Primary School Teaching qualification 

• Previous successful experience teaching 

• Previous experience with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) would be highly desirable

• High level of proficiency in oral and written English 

• Proven capacities to work with international students and support students for whom English is not their mother tongue 

• The ability to differentiate and deliver conceptual, engaging and inquiry based lessons 

• Familiarity and experience with collaborative planning and a team-teaching approach 

• Ability to teach literacy and maths with a developmental approach, using literacy and mathematics continuums


Main duties and responsibilities of the job

• Collaboratively planning, preparing and delivering differentiated lessons

• Assessing and reporting student progress

• Communication with parents

• Responsibility student welfare and pastoral development of the class group

• Maintaining the learning environment of the classroom and managing resources

• Organising and taking part in school events, trips and extra-curricular activities

• Line management of the teaching assistant
