We combine world-class educational content and assessment, powered by services and technology, to enable more effective teaching and personalised learning at scale. Pearson is regularly featured on the Forbes list of Best Employers and we are recognised in the Best Employers for Diversity 2019 awards. Pearson is listed on both the London and New York stock exchanges (UK: PSON; NYSE: PSO). We are proud to offer an exceptional environment to develop your professional career and we are now hiring for a Qualifications Product Developer to join our successful team.

About the role

At Pearson we are looking for an energetic and proactive Product Developer who has a passion for education. We have an exciting opportunity within our General Qualifications (GQ) Product team. Our team is responsible for leading the strategy for school-level academic qualifications - primarily GCSE and A level and international GCSE and international A level - and for providing outstanding support for our customers. Your responsibilities in this role will involve:

  • Develop and maintain subject and market insight;
  • Manage the design, development and accreditation process for market winning academic qualifications and for key elements of the surrounding proposition;
  •  Innovation;
  •  Leadership.

Here's what a former Teacher and now Pearson colleague thinks about this opportunity:

“Prior to working at Pearson I was a teacher for 15 years in several different state schools. I really enjoyed my time in schools but decided I wanted to leave teaching to pursue a career which would still be rewarding and give me autonomy to be more creative and enjoy a better work life balance. At Pearson I work with great people and enjoy working on many varied and interesting projects. It is great to be able to work with teams of people who are dedicated to creating the best qualifications they can offer to young people. I feel like I can really make a difference as I now have time to reflect, collaborate and feel empowered in my working life."

Qualifications

Our Successful Candidate

We are interested in applicants with experience working within education sector, along with an understanding of education assessment, practice and policy. You'll have experience of working effectively with subject specialist teachers and subject understanding within the Humanities and Extended Curriculum group of subjects would be a plus. (Flexibility and potential to work across broader subjects where specialism is not required is also a requirement of the role.)

It would be an advantage to have experience in the design and development of qualifications, products or curricula. Ideally, you’ll have project management experience with demonstrable track record of delivering high quality (in customer and regulator terms) products to time, cost and quality requirements.

Experience of presenting to academics and stakeholder groups along with customer research scoping, implementation and analysis of results to inform activities and propositions would also be an advantage.

Transform your expertise to a new level - we have many interesting and dynamic projects to look forward to in 2021 and beyond therefore now is the ideal time to join our Pearson family. Apply now for a highly rewarding and truly global career!

There is a range of options, too many to list here, but when you join our Pearson family you can look forward to:
