Enthusiastic and professional early years educator required for a Nursery & Pre School in Hackney.

We have a ‘people before profit’ approach and our ethos is holistic and child centred. Our childcare is complemented by parenting support and a strong focus on partnership working.

You'll need stamina to keep up with the needs and energy of a small group of young, lively children. Have a good working knowledge of the EYFS, as well as an understanding of ‘In the Moment Planning’ and ‘Free Flow Play’ as both of these concepts are central to our ethos and pedagogy. Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, arts and crafts are advantageous as is SEND experience/awareness. A Level 3 Diploma in childcare and 2 years’ experience working within a Nursery or Pre School setting.

What we can offer you: This is a permanent full-time role, with a three month probation period. We pay London Living Wage as a minimum and offer a comprehensive training package, to help you progress within your career. As a holistic organisation we place a strong emphasis on the wellbeing of our staff; to enable them to be able provide the best care for our children, we have regular supervision support meetings. Twenty-eight pro rata paid holiday days per year (including bank holidays).

Benefits and conditions of the role:

Job Type / Category

• Hours: up to 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 48 weeks a year.

• 28 fully paid holiday a year pro rata including bank holidays.

• Ongoing learning and development plan and training and monthly supervision support.

• Location: Mare St E8, Hackney, London

• Start Date: ASAP – January 2021

• Permanent Full Time Contract with a 3 months’ probation period

• Salary: £20,200 - £25,200 Annually (depending upon experience, goes up every April in line with London Living Wage)


Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Skills required

• Level 3 Diploma in Early Years and 2 years’ working within a Nursery or Pre School setting.

• Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.

• A respect and fondness for children and their rights, strong communication and listening skills.

• Excellent organisational skills to plan the children's day and respond to children's different needs including SEND.

• The ability to inspire and enthuse young children and staff, with an energetic, patient, responsible, resourceful and caring nature.

• Ability to work independently with children, as well as being able to work in the wider staff team.

• Ability to form positive relationships with, children, staff, parents and the local community and work as a team.

• Understanding of the EYFS with an ability to observe, assess and plan.
