Abraham Moss is a very interesting school located in and alongside the Abraham Moss Centre.  It attracts a committed and stimulating intake of pupils from a socially and culturally diverse area.  There is a superb range of highly motivated teaching and associate staff, all committed to high levels of achievement and participation in learning.  Development of language across the school is key.

A qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Studies is needed from September 2017 to teach at Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE - an opportunity not to be missed by a new or experienced teacher.  Ability to offer a second subject within the humanities faculty would be an advantage.

The Humanities Faculty covers 4 subject areas: History, Geography, RS & Citizenship.  The Faculty is well resourced with access to excellent facilities.  The quality of teaching and learning is high.  There is strong distributed leadership and teamwork within the Faculty.  Pupils make excellent progress at all levels.

We place a great focus on staff development, at all levels with an extensive programme of professional development which offers a whole range of opportunities for colleagues’ development.

Abraham Moss is an inclusive school where children flourish.  There is barrier-free provision for pupils with physical disabilities.  EAL teaching is a strength. Our ethos attracts pupils and staff who are committed to a multi-ethnic 3 -16 Community School where there are good relationships, good teaching and many opportunities.

About Abraham Moss Community School

Abraham Moss Community School is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational all-through school in Crumpsall, Manchester and is a part of The Dean Trust. It caters to students aged between three and sixteen and has approximately 1,653 pupils enrolled.

Abraham Moss Community School was founded in 1973 and was named after Abraham Moss, who was Lord Mayor of Manchester from 1953 to 1954.

Abraham Moss Community School prioritises literacy and numeracy skills. It also promotes the spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of education through PSHE and Citizenship, as well as RE. Arts and sports are provided to ensure a more rounded education for each child.
