About the Role

Accountable for the quality of teaching, learning and assessment across the largest and most diverse vocational curriculum in the city region. This role is fundamental in maintaining and improving the quality of education across the college, supporting our students to achieve and progress in either education or employment. As a member of the wider leadership team in ‘the college for business’ you will ensure that professional development and quality assurance and improvement procedures allow all college staff to respond to economic priorities and drivers for growth, supporting employers in creating a skilled workforce across the region. You will be responsible for supporting teachers and assessors in delivering high quality learning for all students, supporting teachers and curriculum managers in meeting awarding body and assessment requirements and continuing to implement our strategic focus upon evidence-based practice.

 

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with SEND and/or learning technologies experience.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
