With the quality and fitness for purpose of OCR's qualifications being paramount, we are looking for a Quality Support Admin Manager, within the Quality Support Team, who will play a key role in providing support to Assessment Standards in OCR.

About the role

The Quality Support team are responsible for overseeing the monitoring of quality of marking and moderation processes to ensure regulatory compliance, and the admin team support the administrative processes linked to this.

Reporting to the Quality Support Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities of the admin team within the Quality Support Team in Assessment Standards. You will have the ability to understand the capacity requirements and translate this to allocating tasks within the team. This will also include making recommendations for streamlining and improving the admin teams processes.

The admin team are a small team who also provide support to all staff and processes within Assessment Standards and Research Technical Standards teams.

During our peak processing weeks, you will also supervise temporary staff in order to deliver key outputs.

We are a busy team throughout the year, however there are significant periods when the workload is particularly demanding:

During major examination and awarding periods – mid-May to early August and to lesser extent January/February and November. Some weekend working will be required during these periods.

About you

We are looking for someone to effectively manage the work of the Quality Support Admin team, delegating roles and responsibilities to a team of three administrators.

You will have excellent inter-personal skills, be a good problem solver and have proven ability to work under pressure. Ideally, you will have experience of managing a team.

In addition, we are looking for the following: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • A competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to take a strategic approach to planning and organising the workload of a team
  • Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task to meet competing demands
