Job overview
OFSTED NOVEMBER 2013: ‘Students thrive in this school.’
Hatch End High School is a high performing, innovative academy in Harrow with Arts College status and a large and very successful sixth form. We are extremely proud of our diverse and multi-ethnic cohort and outstanding reputation for inclusion. Standards and progress are high but we are never complacent. Our school ethos, WE CARE: Cooperation, Ambition, Respect, Equality underpins everything we do.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of religious education. R.E has a high profile in the school, delivered discretely in KS3 & KS4 and all students are entered for the full course GCSE. In addition, Philosophy and Ethics A-level is also offered in the Sixth Form.
The school offers a wide range of very popular Social Sciences including sociology, government and politics, psychology and the humanities subjects. The ability to teach another related discipline in these areas would be an advantage.
This post is particularly suitable for NQTs but also open to experienced candidates.
We offer a highly supportive environment and a comprehensive CPD programme with superb promotion prospects and career development.
We are keen to incorporate new technologies to assist teaching and learning so classroom based staff are given iPads, which are also given to students by departments.
