Raising Standards Director: STEAM

The RSD: STEAM role is an exciting, new position. The teaching load of the post holder will be approximately 50% because the post carries significant management responsibilities. You will be a qualified Maths, Science or ICT/Computing teacher and have exceptional data handling skills as well as superb people management abilities.
The RSD:STEAM will be a visionary and committed leader and he/she will directly line-manage the Heads of Faculty in Mathematics and Computing, Science and the Creative Industries. Your role is to deliver an exciting and engaging 21st Century STEAM curriculum offer, and you will coach staff to generate and use available data to secure ‘mastery’ and excellent outcomes for all groups of learners.
We are seeking talented individuals who can inspire and encourage our students, making them genuinely aspirational.

- develop and enhance the teaching practice of others
- design an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum

About Fowey River Academy
Fowey River Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Fowey, Cornwall. There are approximately 684 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
Fowey River Academy was established in 1692 as Fowey Free School, opening to 30 pupils from low income families. The school has since been a boarding and grammar school throughout the years. In 2014, it received academy status, changing its name from Fowey Community College to Fowey River Academy.
