Ada Lovelace Church of England High School, one of four schools in the Twyford CE Academies Trust, is a new seven-form-entry secondary school for pupils aged 11-18 in Ealing, West London. The school has an excellent reputation and is rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted (March 23). As a new school within a highly aspirational and academically successful multi-academy Trust Ada Lovelace offers exciting development opportunities and good promotion prospects for talented teachers who support the ethos of our schools. The school offers comprehensive T&L and CPD opportunities for all teachers.
This is an exciting role for an enthusiastic RE teacher as we prepare our students for GCSE and beyond. This post is ideally suited to a teacher who is passionate about curriculum design and development, especially at KS4. As Ada Lovelace is still early in its development as a school there is plenty opportunity for development for the successful applicant, for example key stage development within the department.
The post-holder will be joining an innovative and ambitious staff group that seeks to deliver an outstanding curriculum, and they will be well supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team. The Twyford Trust is particularly committed to achieving high standards in the teaching of RE and achieves outstanding outcomes whilst taking all students through the GCSE.
Relations between staff and students are extremely positive and it is easy for every member of the school to be well known by all of the staff. The successful candidate will have:
- A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status
- Ability to teach RE to KS4
- Knowledge of the latest Ofsted framework for RE
- An understanding of recent curriculum / learning developments
- An understanding of the strategies required to motivate and enthuse all students across the ability range as part of a whole school approach to raising achievement
- An understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report students’ learning effectively
- Ability to be reflective and driven towards self-improvement
- A commitment to the ethos of the school

Ada Lovelace Church of England High School is the newest school in the Twyford CE Academies Trust having moved into its brand-new permanent site in north Ealing in September 2020. The school has now reached full capacity, educating just over 1090 students across years 7 to 13. Ada Lovelace is named after the Victorian pioneer of computing and has a specialism in Digital Technologies which has led to the launch of T-levels at the school in Digital Production, Design and Development , Laboratory Science and Accounting. Being part of the top-performing Multi-Academies Trust in the UK has enabled Ada Lovelace to achieve outstanding GCSE results with progress measures at GCSE which have consistently placed it in the top 1% of schools nationally. Whilst the school has a strong Christian ethos, its admissions policy is open rather than faith-based and the school is heavily oversubscribed.
