Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience required for this position is recent teaching experience and you must hold Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.

We are currently seeking to recruit a qualified RE Teacher on behalf of a large Comprehensive Secondary School based in West Sussex, a short 10 miles outside of Bognor Regis and Worthing. The RE Teacher position is due to start in January 2022, full time on a temporary basis until Easter 2022, likely longer. 

This opportunity is to cover for a permanent position that is yet to be recruited for, so there is a high likelihood this opportunity could turn permanent for the successful candidate. 

The role:

The desired RE Teacher will have passion and enthusiasm for the subject who will have the responsibility of delivering RE lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4. The successful RE Teacher will have high expectations of behaviour and attainment and will have the ability to build positive relationships with others.

The school offer a GCSE AQA RS qualification, with an AQA A-Level option for those in the Sixth Form, however A-Level experience is not necessary at this time. 

The academic day commences at 8.30am with Period 1 and ends at 3pm with Period 5 (Fridays at 2.30pm). 

Requirements:

To be considered for the position of RE Teacher you must:    

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent    
  • Have prior experience delivering GCSE RE.  
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team    
  • Have the ability to deliver and plan where needed inspiring lessons
