North Star 240° is a secondary provision within the North Star Academy Trust based in North Bristol specialising in supporting pupils experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We aim to be part of a joined-up provision offering our pupils the outstanding education they deserve.

We have the opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to join our team to provide Reading Intervention at NS240°. We require an outstanding, inspirational, motivated and dedicated Reading Intervention Learning Support Assistant

You will be joining a positive, solution-focused team of staff who are dedicated to help improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils

The successful applicants will have:

• The successful candidate will have previous experience of delivering reading intervention and be enthusiastic about creating engaging sessions

• You will be a flexible individual, who is able to successfully manage challenging behaviour.

• You will be working with specific individuals or groups of children.

• It is essential that you are able to use assessment to identify gaps and weaknesses in order to constantly challenge pupils.

• Ability to support reading and phonics for those students at the early stages of reading.

• To support our programme of extra-curricular activities.

• A flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to working in a structured environment.

• The ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.

• Skills of empathy, listening, communication and the ability to respond to unexpressed need.

• Willingness to undertake the further training that will be offered.
