We currently have the following vacancy at St Aldhelm’s Academy, Herbert Avenue, Poole, BH12 4HS

We are looking for an organised and efficient person who can run our school library and help promote a love of reading amongst our students.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

·        Has a love of reading

·        Has current experience of working with children in school and be able to promote an excellent desire for learning

·        Has a knowledge of current trends

·        Has an enthusiasm for literacy

·        Is able to promote literary days throughout the school year e.g. World Book Day

·        Can support students with Accelerated Reader and Bedrock Vocabulary

·        Is able to support and promote an excellent reflective learning ethos

·        Is creative and flexible in the way they work

·        Has excellent communication skills

·        Has highly developed interpersonal skills and a sense of humour

·        Is able to work as part of the English team in order to promote reading as a priority across the academy.

·        Will be committed to their own professional development and participate fully in the life of the school and community

We are looking for candidates who are passionate and ambitious with a drive and commitment to improve the life chances of our young people. You will have a dynamic, exceptional and creative approach to improving the teaching and learning in a way that benefits all children.

St Aldhelm's Academy is a 900 PAN-pupil school which currently has 845 students. St Aldhelm’s joined Ambitions Academy Trust in 2015 and educates boys and girls aged between 11 and 16.

Student wellbeing is extremely important to us and we have a large and experienced pastoral team who can support students both in and outside the academy. We want all students to be active members of the school community and supportive of SAA, whether that be representing their TG, House, Student Voice, Student Leadership (student voice in terms of their learning and all aspects of academy life, student leadership, tours, recruitment), belonging to a team/club etc.
