Job overview

Shoeburyness High School is seeking to appoint a Rebuild Supervisor: experience of working with children and young people is essential, with an understanding of the factors affecting the behaviour and attitudes of children and young people. The post will require good communication skills, an awareness of educational requirements and good interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be assertive, confident, well organised, and able to work on their own initiative.

You will work in partnership with a team of experienced and highly skilled Pastoral Year Managers and the wider pastoral and inclusion teams to support students who struggle to meet the schools’ expectations. 

You will be expected to supervise students and provide them with challenge and motivation that ensures a calm working environment that supports their progress. In meeting this need you will be expected to liaise with subject teachers when appropriate, creating and collating resources and gaining key information in order to prepare for supporting students during their time in the inclusion base.

Shoeburyness High School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in Essex, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Shoeburyness, has approximately 1,650 students on record.

In 2013, the secondary school was identified as good with outstanding features by Ofsted. It converted to academy status in 2011.
