Our curriculum is British based and uniquely adapted to the needs of our international and diverse student body. There is an Early Childhood Centre for children aged 1-3. Our Primary School offers a bespoke enquiry-based curriculum. Students in Year 10 & 11 study for (I)GCSE and BTEC courses. Post-16 students can choose from three internationally recognised pre-university examination courses: English A Levels, International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or BTEC.  Our Enrichment programme is exceptional, offering over 100 activities per week.

Your Role:

The successful candidate will lead the Reception Team. This team is currently composed of one F/T colleague, 2 P/T (60%) Teachers and 2 P/T Learning Assistants. The team works in a large open plan unit having continuous access to outside.

The Reception Coordinator will:

• nurture, support and guide staff within the Reception Team, promoting collaboration.
• work closely with the Early Years Team Leader in leading, motivating and enabling staff to provide the highest standard of education for all our Reception children.
• be aware of the pastoral and well-being needs of staff, children and parents within the team.
• be an exemplary practitioner and use this practice to develop and support staff where necessary.
• value and create strong and authentic relationships with students, colleagues and parents creating a climate and culture for the highest standards of learning
• be knowledgeable about and skilled in learning and teaching, getting the very best from students from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
• be appreciative of students’ differing cultural and linguistic backgrounds and thrive in a diverse community;
• be committed to working collaboratively within high performing teams
• be actively involved in professional learning, and across departments where opportunities arise, including after-school meetings, relevant courses and professional learning days;
• be willing and able to contribute actively and wholeheartedly to the social and personal development of students and to the extra-curricular life of the school including trips and Enrichment;
• be a colleague who will be excited by the opportunity to develop this role and be happy to take on significant responsibility within an environment and ethos of openness and distributed leadership.
