Reception/EYFS Teacher Specification

This vacancy is designed for an energetic Reception / EYFS Teacher who possesses a style of teaching that sparks creativity amongst your pupils. The school wants to appoint a Reception Teacher who has a firm belief in the importance of teaching and learning with the conviction to offer inspirational lessons on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to truly get the best from their pupils by adhering to the highest of standards and expectations at all times. We want to meet a Reception Teacher with the drive to teach in an inclusive manner such that each student has an equal chance to reach and exceed their expectations.

We are Cambridge accredited and offer a curriculum which has been tailored and enhanced to meet the needs of our diverse community of children from 2-14 years.

A well balanced sporting programme forms part of the day to day activities. All children participate in P.E. and swimming and children in Year 3 – Year 8 participate in cricket, touch rugby, hockey, football, rounders, netball, athletics, basketball and cross country. The emphasis is on good sportsmanship and enjoyment.

Environmental excursions and class outings are an integral part of the children’s education. Not only are pupils made aware of their responsibility to the environment but these trips provide opportunities for them to develop leadership skills and broaden their experience outside the classroom.

A large variety of hobbies and clubs are on offer – chess, cooking, model making, gardening – to name just a few.

About Kennedy House International School

Kennedy House is one of the youngest but fastest growing private schools in East Africa. It is a co-educational day school for about 100 pupils aged 2-13. 

We are located at the epicentre of the premium tourist destination in the world! There is a strong commitment to excellence in the wider curriculum and pupils are encouraged to play a full part in all aspects of school life both in the classroom and in the numerous after school and extra curricular activities and initiatives. 

Staff and children play an important role in community development and we work closely with one local school in particular. We have recently raised funds and built a playground and working toilets for the school.

Staff are involved in offering activities after school, running sports teams and supporting whole school events. Staff  also support the adventurous trips be it climbing a local mountain, heading off to the Indian Ocean or going on safari into one of the beautiful national parks on our doorstep such as the Serengeti.
