Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is Level 3 or degree equivalent and experience with SEN. 

The role 

Smart Teachers are recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a two-form entry school in Hammersmith and Fulham. The suitable candidate will be working with a pupil in Reception who has been diagnosed with ASD. The pupil will need a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support with accessing the curriculum. There are no behavioural issues attached to this pupil, a lovely child who is exceling within mainstream education. There will be times where the suitable SEN Teaching Assistant will need to take the pupil out of the class due to their reduced attention span, with no personal care required.  The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will only need to focus on the one pupil during lesson time and playtimes. The Reception SEN Teaching Assistant will also be required to support the pupil during their 1:1 Speech therapy sessions, once per week. The ideal Reception SEN Teaching Assistant will have experience using sensory activities and visual cards to aid academic and social development.  This would be a fabulous opportunity for a Psychology graduate who wishes to pursue a career in Educational Psychology or an individual who wishes to pursue a career in Education.

Requirements 

To be considered for the Reception SEN Teaching Assistant , you must:

• Level 3 or degree equivalent qualification 

• Have recent experience supporting in early years

• Have experience with SEN, ideally ASD

• Have recent or past experience working in Primary 

• Eligibility to work in the UK (must have a valid visa)
