Meadowcroft is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 19, catering for children with a wide range of needs across 3 sites in Wakefield. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life. 


About the role

We now have an opportunity for a Receptionist & Administrative Assistant to join our close-knit team at Meadowcroft School.

As one of our Receptionists, you will be responsible for welcoming all visitors into our school and carrying out a range of administrative and clerical duties. You will work closely with our team to provide essential administrative support and offer excellent hospitality to those visiting us. These duties will include; signing all visitors in and out, escorting visitors around the school when necessary, answering the main switchboard, message taking, coordinating meetings and preparing paperwork, photocopying, preparing letters as well as all other school specific administrative tasks.

Your work will be very important and so attention to detail, accuracy and excellent customer service skills are essential.

As our Receptionist & Administrative Assistant, you will work 37.5 hours each week (Monday to Friday 7.30am – 3.30pm) with a 30-minute lunch break each day.


Who are we looking for?

Our School Receptionist & Administrative Assistant will be key to our success and therefore we need an honest, reliable, trustworthy and incredibly friendly person to work with us and provide this vital front-of-house service. Excellent administrative skills, telephone manner, confidentiality and IT skills are also essential.

Engaging with our children and young people is also incredibly important to us and you must be willing to take a proactive approach, acting as an ambassador all at times and make sure the cogs keep turning for the school.

At The Gallery, small class sizes at the specialist primary provision work in conjunction with the dedicated unit for pupils with more complex needs. As well as its classrooms, pupils are offered appropriate practical life skill lessons in a simulated home setting.
