Local Government Band 2 to midpoint

Actual Salary at Point 11: £10,005 per annum

25 Hours per week, 40 weeks per year (38 weeks’ term time, 1 week non pupil days and 1 week during the school holidays).

Working Pattern for this post 12:00pm – 5:00pm Monday to Friday 

This is an exciting opportunity to join St. Helena School in Colchester.

In this role you will provide a professional receptionist service to the School

We're looking for you if you have:

  • Experience of reception work/school office work
  • General understanding of the operation of a  school
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to manage own time effectively
  • Understanding of procedures and legislation relating to confidentiality

Some of the key responsibilities are:

· Be the first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries and take messages where appropriate.

· Undertake general administrative duties as required by the Office Manager.

· Receive and deal with enquiries from visitors, parents, staff, Governors, both over the   telephone and in person. 

· Ensure school security arrangements are always complied with, including the issue of visitor’s badges and signing in and out of the visitors’ book taking photo ID as required and updating the Single Central Register of visitors.

· Manage the diary for meetings, room bookings both internal and external and for outside agencies as required.
