We are a Multi Academy Trust comprising of six secondary schools, one primary school, and two alternative provisions, with over 750 employees and over 5,500 students, based in Dudley and Staffordshire in the West Midlands.

We are seeking a receptionist who will provide administrative support. The post holder will perform receptionist duties and provide daily support for visitors, staff, students and stakeholders.

Working under guidance of the Learning Manager the successful candidate will provide both academic and pastoral support to students to overcome barriers to learning in order to achieve excellent outcomes.

Regular duties would include:

  • Be the first point of contact/front line in receiving visitors, staff and students to the centre.
  • Welcome and receive visitors, signing in and dealing with directing staff, students, parents, governors and visitors as appropriate
  • Be responsible for access control to site, open/lock and monitor reception doors. Managing the centre’s entry system and visitor logs
  • Sign students in and out
  • Where applicable check visitors/contractors DBS compliance
  • Co-ordinate the centre’s on call system, ensuring staff are informed of issues and are directed to the relevant room/area.
  • Collect student lunch orders and forward to the catering department.
  • Take minutes as required at local meetings.
  • Operating the main telephone, transferring calls or taking and delivering messages as appropriate
  • Managing the main email inbox, replying, forwarding messages and making appointments for staff as appropriate
  • Managing the notice board at school site or on school systems – adding and removing content as appropriate
  • Updating the school calendar, adding and removing content as appropriate
  • Receiving and sorting incoming mail for delivery to appropriate staff. Distribute internal mail accordingly. Recording, stamping/franking and posting outgoing mail
  • Sign for parcels/deliveries and advise staff to collect
  • Assisting with the administration of Free School Meals  
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the student database ensuring student records are updated as and when required. 
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the filing and archiving systems
  • General clerical and administrative tasks such as photocopying, sending correspondence, printing, faxing, laminating etc.

Leasowes High School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with a Sixth Form situated in Halesowen, West Midlands. It provides 1,190 places for students aged 11-18 when fully subscribed.
