Sherborne Qatar is looking for a warm, professional, and highly organised Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our school. This full-time position plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for visitors, parents, pupils, and staff, ensuring every interaction at the front desk reflects the school’s values of courtesy, efficiency, and excellence.
The ideal candidate will be a people person with strong interpersonal skills, capable of juggling multiple tasks while maintaining a calm and courteous manner. As the first point of contact for the school, the Receptionist is pivotal in creating a smooth and supportive experience for all.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk and Visitor Management
- Greet all visitors, staff, and pupils with warmth, professionalism, and a welcoming attitude.
- Maintain the security and sign-in protocols for visitors, issuing badges and informing relevant staff members of arrivals.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to general email enquiries, and route messages promptly and accurately.
- Manage deliveries and post, ensuring items are recorded and directed appropriately.
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Admissions and Administration teams, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
- Support the scheduling of school tours and appointments for prospective parents.
- Assist in the preparation of welcome packs, event registrations, and school communications.
- Maintain an organised and presentable front desk area at all times.
Communication and Coordination
- Handle enquiries with discretion, clarity, and helpfulness—ensuring accurate information is shared.
- Liaise with various departments to relay messages and coordinate internal requests.
- Update and maintain key contact lists, visitor logs, and reception-related documents.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field; additional administrative or customer service training is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in a receptionist, front desk, or administrative role—preferably in a school or customer-facing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Punctual, dependable, and detail-oriented.
Desirable:
- Arabic language skills.
- Previous experience in an educational setting.
