Leigh Academies Trust’s Recruitment Team, part of the wider HR Department, is responsible for delivering a fully centralised recruitment service that all LAT academies and partner organisations benefit from. Due to the continuing growth of LAT, we are expanding our team again and have a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Recruitment Administrator who will join us for the new academic year in September 2022 - the sixth member of our team!  Click here to meet the existing Recruitment Team.

The role is based at Leigh Academies Trust Head Office in Strood, Rochester.  This is a permanent, full-time position and the hours are 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am - 4.00pm on Fridays.  You’ll be office based for 4 days of the week and work from home every Wednesday.

Working alongside our current Recruitment Administrator, the main purpose of your role will be to support the Trust’s Recruitment Team with all areas of recruitment administration, acting as a main point of contact for initial enquiries and supporting candidates through the recruitment journey.  Each Recruitment Administrator will be allocated a specific group of academies, meaning you will get to know the key hiring managers incredibly well and build strong working relationships.

You will provide support across the full recruitment cycle, selection process and on-boarding process, ensuring that we offer a first-class candidate experience that is efficient, professional and informative. You will work with and support all members of the Recruitment Team on different projects and tasks, and regularly liaise with members of the HR Team.  You will be working with a variety of stakeholders on a daily basis; this is a broad and varied role so an open and positive mind-set is essential.

Who is suitable for this role?  As an organisation, we hire for attitude and train for skill - this is very true of this role in particular.  Whether you are a recent school leaver or more experienced administrator seeking a new challenge, we welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates.  Whoever joins us will be a genuine team player and thrive on working both independently and as part of a team, and have confidence in using your initiative.  We are a very busy department so you will have to multitask and prioritise your workload with great skill!  Above all else, resilience, a positive attitude, motivation to perform well in this role  is essential, as is a real passion for recruitment and pride in representing Leigh Academies Trust in the best way possible. We want the best people in Leigh Academies Trust, and we hope you want to be part of it.

Our successful candidate will receive;

  • A starting salary of £19,411 per annum which increases annually based on successful performance
  • 25 days annual leave per annum plus bank holidays which increases with length of service
  • Career development and training opportunities to suit your needs and career objectives
  • The opportunity to bank overtime, accumulated by attending evening events throughout the year (notice is given well in advance for any events)

Please note that training will be provided to upskill you in any areas that you do not currently have experience/knowledge.  As travel between sites may be required from time to time, you will ideally hold a valid UK driving license and have access to your own vehicle – mileage is reimbursed in line with our Expenses Policy.

Please contact the Recruitment Team if you have any questions about the role – talent@latrust.org.uk. Note that all applications must be submitted electronically via our e-recruitment system; we cannot accept CVs or speculative emails outside of this system.

About Leigh Academies Trust

Leigh Academies Trust is one of the country’s largest and most-established multi-academy trusts operating across Kent, Medway and South East London. It contains primary, secondary and special academies and is highly inclusive and successful. Our mission is to deliver “education for a better world” by ensuring that young people in our academies have an excellent start in life regardless of their background or ability.

We are a non-profit making charitable company, based in Strood, Medway. The Trust exists to support and assist schools to build upon their existing strengths and to help them achieve rapid educational transformation. It has significant experience in running schools, and today includes both sponsored academies and schools which have chosen to convert to academy status.

The Trust was formed in 2008 with the linking of the Leigh Technology Academy and Longfield Academy under one governing body. Today, we encompass more than 20,000 students between the ages of 2 months and 19 in over 30 primary, secondary and special academies including one all-through academy and one grammar school.

In addition to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all of our children, aged from 2 months to 19 years, and their families, we are proud to provide many opportunities for lifelong learning.  These are delivered through the organisations under our umbrella: Thames Gateway Teaching School Hub, LAT Apprenticeships and Kent and Medway Training (KMT), which delivers routes into teaching. Our future plans are found in our Vision 2030 document available on our website.
