REFERRAL UNIT (RU) MANAGER
KR6 – Term Time Only + 2 Staff Development Days
Current Salary - £19,221.00 pro rata to £16,263.00 pa
This is an exciting time to join The Charles Dickens School as it joins the Barton
Court Academy Trust (BCAT) working in partnership with Barton Court Grammar School
Academy, an outstanding co-educational grammar school in Canterbury. This new venture will
see The Charles Dickens students and staff benefit from outstanding leadership and the sharing

An RU Manager is required to start immediately to manage the day-to-day teaching
and organisation of the RU. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working
closely with children and should possess excellent numeracy and literacy skills along with basic IT
A knowledge of policies and procedures relating to safeguarding is required along with the
ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working hours will be 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-3.30pm Fridays including
30 minutes unpaid lunch breaks.
Following the current restructure we anticipate the salary for this post increasing to £19,608 fte
pro rata to £16,278.00 pa from 30 April 2017
