Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a temporary Regional Consequences Coordinator to increase our capacity to support with Covid recovery across our Northern Academies. You will be based at Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth in the first instance in order to cover a period of absence, but you will have the opportunity to work across the region; where you will be placed will depend on academy needs.

We are looking for someone with the drive to contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration and mutual support within our academies, which promotes equality within and values the diversity of our communities. You will be required to work closely with our Deep Support Team to support the provision for students who need help to overcome barriers to learning and develop their potential.

With a holistic view of education, we value vocational, practical, creative and academic talent equally and focus on building transferable skills that result in real-world success. We aim to instil British Values: a passion for democratic participation, individual liberty, mutual respect, and difference and diversity, backed by a commitment to taking responsibility for one’s own conduct and progress. By empowering students to take ownership of their learning, we can create tomorrow’s leaders as well as responsible, caring and engaging citizens.

We are looking for an individual who has high aspirations for students, who is committed, and passionate about learning; who has the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’. The role of the Consequences Coordinator is to be the gatekeeper of the consequences system. You will manage the procedures to log and track data to provide reports and accurate information for the Senior Leadership team, as such the successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively under pressure, be a reliable, organised and conscientious individual who is a flexible team worker and shows initiative.

Head of School: Jason Rhodes

We are an 11-16, Ofsted Good rated academy based in the market town of Stockton-on-Tees, in vibrant County Durham and have been a part of the Outwood family of schools since 2016.

We are proud that Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth is rated Good by Ofsted and are delighted that in its report, Ofsted noted ‘the school is being rapidly transformed through the highly effective actions of leaders and the trust’.

As part of this transformation, we aim to innovate with a knowledge-rich curriculum, designed to personalise learning for every student, helping them to reach their potential.

We serve the local community and aim to give its children an excellent start in life by giving them a first-class education. As a smaller school we know all our students, their strengths and how to get the very best out of them.

We have won numerous awards as a school and we have been accredited with the prestigious IQM Award, in addition to being an IQM Centre of Excellence, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

The Outwood Family of Schools pride ourselves on fully supporting colleagues within the Family both professionally and personally.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

As a founding Trust of the National Institute of Education (NIoT), we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education and NIoT to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all teaching staff receiving a minimum of two hours of CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including family friendly policies, enhanced occupational benefits available (such as maternity, adoption and parental leave) with no qualifying period, funded CPD for qualifications up to and including Masters level plus other exclusive benefits including a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy.

All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.

If you share our vision, join our family.
