Orbital Education has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Regional Head of Schools. The company, which is based in Cheadle Hulme near Manchester, was founded in 2005 and now owns and operates 10 schools in Russia, Spain, Qatar, Hungary, Slovenia, Ecuador and China. Orbital Schools offer the English National Curriculum in all schools and the International Baccalaureate in some. The company has ambitious plans for growth and in order to support and improve its schools, it is now seeking a Regional Head of Schools.

The position of Regional Head of Schools, reporting to the Group CEO, sits on the Governing Board of a designated number of schools in the Group and works closely with the Principals of those schools. The role is to ensure that these schools deliver a high-quality education and improve academic attainment for all students within a framework of good governance and management practise, and achieve the commercial objectives of the Group. The Regional Head of Schools may also, from time to time, drive specific initiatives in particular areas across all schools in the Group and support new acquisitions and start-ups.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will command credibility from significant leadership experience as Principal or senior consultant in a variety of organisational settings. With experience of working with school boards, he/she will be able to demonstrate achievement in enhancing the academic performance of a school, improving its management practises and achieving its financial objectives. Substantial experience working in a British international school environment outside the UK will be important and responsibility for operating safeguarding and safer recruitment is essential. Commercial knowledge gained in education or a for-profit business would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively, be an adept problem solver, with the confidence to take responsibility and communicate effectively.
