Job overview

A unique opportunity for a highly motivated leader with exceptional teaching skills.

This role is genuinely unique, and requires someone who is special. As a Vice Principal who works across the southern region, you will be an integral part of the senior team in each academy; which will require you to welcome students into our school in the morning, engage in learning conversations with them all day, and identify with their teachers what they need to ensure they achieve their potential. Senior leaders in our schools operate a ‘no office’ policy and are committed to spending their days in classrooms - which is of course where the magic happens.

The regional vice principal leading Deep Support across the region will need to be driven, self-motivated, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills. We have schools in Chesterfield, Sheffield, Doncaster, Scunthorpe and Worksop and we will expect the successful candidate to be integral to school improvement in every school. The executive team and principal are accountable for the outcomes of over ten thousand students and everything we do puts them at the centre of all we do.

At the forefront of our selection process will be the ability to teach an outstanding lesson as it is essential that the successful applicant has the credibility to inspire and enthuse teachers across our region and understands all aspects of pedagogy and practice to secure the very best outcomes for children. For us, school improvement takes place through every interaction and the very best place to implement and embed positive change is in the classroom.

The regional vice principal, Deep Support, should also have extensive and expert knowledge in all aspects of inclusion, SEND, attendance and behaviour - notwithstanding the fundamental links with teaching and learning to create a culture of even higher aspirations and outcomes.

The brief for this role is extensive and we know our demands are high - but the successful candidate will receive exceptional professional development, and opportunity to work across, and impact upon, a number of schools and the unique experience of developing an entirely new role. Please note this position requires driving.

About The Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT)

Interim Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

The Outwood Grange Academies Trust was born out of the success of Outwood Grange: a large school with 2,200 students, which has achieved record results for the last decade.

As one of the highest performing Family of Schools in the North of England, we have transformed education and outcomes across a network of 40 primary and secondary academies. Working closely together and sharing best practice, our schools do whatever it takes to ensure that every child, irrespective of starting point, can realise his or her full potential and unique talents.

Whether you’re joining us as a support staff member, an ECT, in a leadership position, and everything in between, we will invest in you and your development throughout your career.

By all working together, supporting and motivating each other, we believe we can raise current standards, and transform the lives of our students. If, as a Trust, we support you to help you reach your potential, we can help ensure all the children you teach will also reach theirs.
