Join Wigan & Leigh College on our journey to outstanding

Continually striving for excellence and a strong Grade 2 College, Wigan & Leigh College is well underway on its journey to become Outstanding. With over 6,500 students and a turnover of £26m, the College is in a strong position to continue to move forward and grow.

The College has distinct ambitions to expand its choice of programmes and services to meet the needs of the local community and support the economic transformation of Wigan and surrounding areas.

The College has created a community that encourages all students to enhance their learning through wider opportunities and support services; to maximise their achievements and secure progression onto further study and employment.

As a Registry Officer based within the MIS & IT Services Team, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring and evaluating student records to ensure accuracy of data.  You will be using a number of internal data systems, so an aptitude for IT and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is essential. You will collate and analyse relevant data and will be expected to validate the information to ensure the integrity of management reports and external returns.

In addition, you will be responsible for supporting the work of the department and ensuring an outstanding service is provided to internal and external customers in an efficient and effective manner.

With the aforementioned in mind, we are looking for someone who is able to work independently and as part of a busy team.  You should be able to work to deadlines, communicate effectively and have a desire to keep abreast of changes to funding legislation.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a good standard of education, proven administration work experience and be committed to providing a high level of customer service. Knowledge of Management Information Systems and an awareness of student records and the implications of funding would also be advantageous.

The College reserves the right to interview for this post should we receive suitable candidates prior to the closing date.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check.

The College is only accepting direct applicants for this role, no agency contact is required.
