Caulfield Grammar School is an internationally recognised, independent, co-educational school committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities from Early Learning through to Year 12 across 5 campuses. 

In 2021 the school commenced a partnered initiative with Traditional Owners to provided middle and senior school students with extended, residential expeditions across the Northern Territory, broadening students’ experiences beyond the conventional routines of family and school life. So too their connection to country. In 2022 we will take the next exciting steps in this initiative. 

Based remotely in the township of Jabiru and reporting to the Head of Northern Territory Programs, this role will involve working collaboratively with the Expeditions Team to support the School Expeditions to the Northern Territory as well as developing and designing innovative curriculum. These 12-month fixed-term opportunities will commence in January 2022.  

Key responsibilities: 

  • Observe and monitor student learning and development
  • Actively support students’ wellbeing through the entry, experience and re-entry phases  
  • Provide opportunities for student leadership and responsibility within the programme, encouraging a spirit of excellence, responsibility, and cooperation within the group.  
  • Liaise with the Expedition Leadership Team, on the well-being of students, reporting on progress, conduct, personal issues, learning difficulties, health etc
  • Communicate with parents both proactively and reactively in response and preparation to supporting student wellbeing and health
  • Maintain communication with Expeditions Leadership Team regardingstudent issues, staff issues, building issues, changes to daily site situations, etc 
  • Promote positive and professional relationships between Caulfield Grammar Schools and local 
  • Promote cultural-sensitivity and actively supervise students when engaging with community groups. 
  • Be committed to providing a safe physical and emotional environment where students are respected and treated with dignity in an appropriate professional and caring manner.
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours 

Key skills:  

  • Hold a current VIT or equivalent registration  
  • Relevant teaching qualifications 
  • Anaphylaxis Management Training 
  • Level 2 First Aid and or Remote First Aid Training 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire children
  • Demonstrated educational leadership in a residential environment is desirable 
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver learning programs in challenging off campus environments is desirable
