Thank you for visiting our profile and I’m delighted to welcome you to Prince William School, part of the East Midlands Academy Trust community of schools.

The EMAT vision is “every child deserves to be the best they can be” and we wholeheartedly believe in this vision of providing the best education for each and every one of our young people.

Our curriculum is well-sequenced, aspirational for all and has excellent teaching and behaviour at its foundation. We ensure that we develop the character in our young people to make the right decisions, at the right time, for the right reason, even when no one is watching.

At both GCSE and A level, our outcomes are very strong, and Ofsted recognise that our school is a “calm and friendly place” where our students “enjoy school, feel safe and are happy” and “respect staff”.

Our commitment to a wider curriculum goes beyond the classroom and we have an excellent range of leadership and enrichment opportunities for all students at all ages that stretch their social and emotional skills.  The careers provision at Prince Williams School is exceptional; it is tailored to each individual student with a one-to-one meeting with our dedicated career adviser in Key Stage 3 and in Key Stage 4. The RSE curriculum allows our students to express their thoughts on a range of challenging topics and encourages them to develop their oracy and articulation skills to become confident in expressing themselves verbally.

We are fully committed to safeguarding our young people and all decisions are made with a lens of safeguarding their wellbeing. We are an inclusive school and our behaviour system is simple and straightforward for all to understand, allowing teachers to focus on the quality of teaching and deliver excellent learning opportunities.

I am incredibly proud to be the headteacher of PWS and, with an open-door culture, welcome any questions or queries. As a community, we will work collaboratively to find solutions and overcome any barriers that any of our young people have to fulfilling their incredible potential.

Anna Hewes

Headteacher
