Start date: September 2020
Contract type: Full Time
Salary: Competitive remuneration package
Contract term: Fixed Term

Bryanston currently has an exciting opportunity for a passionate graduate to assist with Art, initially for one year.

This role would ideally suit a Art graduate interested in exploring the teaching profession and gaining experience in the large and thriving Art Department of a busy co-ed boarding school. Creativity is at the core of the Bryanston philosophy and much value has always been attached to freedom of expression in the arts. One of the great strengths of Bryanston art is its variety. There is in no sense a school style and pupils involved range from beginners and enthusiastic amateurs to the most accomplished practitioners. Within the department, housed in the purpose-built Don Potter Art School, there are specialist areas and teachers for drawing and painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking and textiles.

There is a vibrant community of staff living on site, many of whom also undertake residential boarding house duties with accommodation provided. Full induction and support will be available, and although this is an appointment for one academic year in the first instance, there may be an opportunity for the right candidate to have their employment extended as part of our in-post iPGCE teacher training programme, in due course.

Bryanston offers a competitive package including free accommodation, utilities, meals and gym membership in a fantastic working environment.

Bryanston School is an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 13 to 18, set in a 400-acre site near Blandford Forum in Dorset. Founded in 1928, the school aims above all to develop the all-round talents of individual pupils. A broad, flexible academic and extra-curricular programme is offered and each pupil benefits from considerable one-to-one help and guidance from a personal tutor, subject teachers and housemaster/housemistress. Bryanston aims to combine the best of the new and the old, as befits the school motto et nova et vetera.
