Job overview
We are looking for a resident Senior Matron to support the smooth running of a boarding house. The role will involve supervising resident and day matrons, arranging cover rotas and ensuring the pastoral and general welfare needs of pupils are met, alongside managing domestic arrangements.
Applicants should be outgoing, good at communicating and dealing with young people, and be prepared to use their initiative.
Successful applicants must be committed to safeguarding and will be subject to an enhanced DBS and Child protection checks. We are an equal opportunities employer.

About Wellington School
Wellington School is a Church of England denominational, co-educational, day and boarding school in Somerset. As of the most recent inspection, there were 900 pupils on the school roll. The school’s motto is the opening of Psalm 127; ‘If God Be Not With Us, Our Labour is in Vain’. The Senior School teaches pupils between the ages of 11-18. The school also offers preparatory facilities from the ages of 3 onwards. Founded in 1837 as a boys school, Wellington has been fully independent and co-educational since 1978. The 35 acre site is a combination of traditional and more recent architecture. The school operates in both a boarding and day capacity.
