Job overview

Llandovery College is seeking to appoint a warm, caring, highly-organised Resident Houseparent for our thriving girls’ boarding house, Ty Llanofer. This post carries responsibility for the daily running of the house, and the welfare of girls from Year 6 to 13.

Essential qualities of a Houseparent are a good sense of humour, a passion for boarding life, stamina, and excellent communication skills, but most importantly, an interest in the care and development of teenage girls, and preparing them for life beyond school. This post would suit someone already involved in pastoral care, interested in pursuing a career in education, or with experience in the caring professions. Benefits include year round free accommodation in the Boarding House, free meals during term time, paid school holidays, use of school facilities, all in a beautiful, rural location close to the Brecon Beacons National park.

A contribution to the wider life of a day and boarding school, both in pastoral and extracurricular activities is expected. This is a non-teaching post and relevant pastoral experience would be an advantage. You will be expected to live on site during term-time.

Llandovery College is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and all applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening including enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service and checks with past employers.

Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
