The Residential Caretaker will be an integral member of the Maintenance Team. The core purpose of the Maintenance team is to ensure that the fabric of the school and grounds is both maintained and improved to a high standard thereby positively adding to the overall impression of the school for staff, parents, pupils and visitors alike. The actual tasks will be varied and wide ranging and will include day to day maintenance of buildings and improvement projects, site security and assisting with external lets.
You will be hardworking with an attention to detail. A background in either electrical and/or building work is desirable. A willingness to learn is essential as is the ability to respond readily to changing priorities.
This post is 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. How the hours will be spread across the week will be discussed at interview, but they will include regular Saturday mornings, a 6.00pm lock-up and support for lets on some weekends. You will also be expected to be on call in the event of an emergency, such as a fire alarm or burst pipe. While this role could be undertaken by someone who lives very locally, the intention is to provide a two-bedroom flat on-site as part of the job. Benefits include:
