Residential Deputy Head

Barnardiston Hall Preparatory School

Suffolk

  • Expired
Job type:
Full Time, Permanent
Start date:
September 2017
Apply by:
23 December 2016

Job overview

Barnardiston Hall is a well-regarded Day / Boarding Preparatory School that caters for children from the age of 6 months to 13 years.  It is an IAPS School and has received excellent ISI Inspection Reports.

Due to retirement, we are now looking to appoint a Deputy Head for September 2017 who will also take over the post of Head of Boarding.  This may, therefore, appeal to somebody who is already a Deputy Head or who holds a senior post in a larger school and is ready to move on in their career.

Barnardiston Hall is a unique school.  It has a caring and family-orientated environment and the post may be suited to somebody who wants to educate his / her own children at the School and who would be supported by their partner.  There is also the possibility of a teaching post at the School for an accompanying spouse.  This is not, however, a requirement of the post.  Salary is at Main Scale

For further information, or for an informal chat with the Principal, please contact Mrs Lesley Gundersen by email at lpg@barnardiston-hall.co.uk or by phone on 01440 786111.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 23 December 2016.

About Barnardiston Hall Preparatory School

Barnardiston Hall Preparatory School caters for girls and boys aged 2-13 years. Pupils are prepared for Common Entrance and entry to Independent and State Schools.

Set in 32 acres of grounds on the borders of Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, the School offers individual all-round education for boys and girls, both day and boarding (weekly and full). High standards are achieved by small classes (average 14 children, maximum 20) who are taught by graduate and teacher-trained staff. There is a caring approach and close liaison with parents.

With the completion of a major new extension, we now believe that we offer some of the very best classroom facilities of any school in the area whilst our Pre-Prep Department enables younger children to learn in bright and spacious classrooms, in a traditional building full of character and charm.
