Vision for Education is seeking to employ a  Residential School Manager for an ASAP start (Resignation periods will be taken into account) at a residential provision  in St Helens. This position will be a direct employment to the setting and not supply. 

The desired Residential School Manager will be responsible for the continual development of the Residential Care Curriculum, and day to day management and operation of the department. This involves the line management of all support workers, the development, monitoring and evaluation of curriculum delivery and of assessment, planning and record-keeping systems, to ensure the achievement and progress of all students within the care curriculum.  

The desired candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with SEMH, Residential care standards, priorities and procedures for assessment, planning, recording, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.  

This residential setting is an 11 bedded children’s home providing specialist care for young people, male and female aged 11 to 18. The home offers care for children and adolescents who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. 

To be considered for the position of Residential School Manager you must:

  • Hold a Level 5 Diploma in  Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. 
  • Have no criminal convictions or cautions that may be relevant to the safety and welfare of students.
  • Have successful experience of working within a residential provision
  • Have successful experience of working with children and or young people  with special educational needs.
  • Hold a clean current driving license.
