This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

This role encompasses the management of the residential accommodation at Moreton Morrell and Royal Leamington Spa. The post holder will also oversee the welfare, including safeguarding and discipline, of all residential students based at these Colleges.

Reporting into this role will be the Senior Residential Warden and Residential Services Officer both based at Moreton Morrell along with the Accommodation Officer at Royal Leamington Spa. This post will report to the Head of FE Quality, International & Residential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ To manage an effective accommodation service that meets the needs of residential students, using the TCAS system (or equivalent).

✓ To be responsible for ensuring that the Residential bursary scheme is made available to eligible students.

✓ To liaise with College management at Moreton Morrell to ensure that discipline and welfare standards are maintained and implemented following College policies and procedures.

✓ To manage the process of maintaining and increasing offsite accommodation and the administration of ensuring that legal letting information is up to date.

✓ To manage staff under your control, carrying out performance reviews, identifying training needs and supporting as necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the service.

✓ To ensure that minimum care standards are met or exceeded following OFSTED guidelines.

✓ To effectively manage the budget for residential services in conjunction with the Head of FE Quality, International and Residential, identifying opportunities to maximise income and reduce costs. Support the Finance team by monitoring and taking action where needed on credit control with student debtors.

ESSENTIAL ATTAINMENTS

✓Possession of a degree level qualification

✓A UK driving licence free of major endorsements and the use of a motor vehicle/or the ability to find alternative means of travel to attend business related activities at any college

✓A First Aid at Work qualification or willingness to obtain

ESSENTIAL KEY EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

✓Experience of working within residential accommodation in an educational setting with students of all ages, particularly in a management role.

✓Demonstrable successful experience of having led successful projects and undertaken developmental work.

✓Experience of managing people and other resources to deliver a student focused service in a multi-site College.

✓Experience of facilitating change.

✓Excellent understanding of student support issues and a track record of successful student support work with students in an FE/HE setting.

✓A proven track record of innovative and customer orientated quality improvements and developments.

✓Excellent knowledge of National Minimum Care standards for under 18 students.

✓The vision, drive and enthusiasm to set and achieve demanding targets and the ability to analyse situations objectively and use initiative.

✓Excellent organisational skills, together with strong written and verbal communication skills.

✓Strong financial management skills.

✓Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Equal Opportunities.

✓Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

✓Ability to think and plan strategically with an understanding of the commercial needs of the business and a commercial approach to the delivery of residential services.

✓Ability to cope well with a varied and busy workload.
