Eastleigh College is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Restaurant Manager to manage all aspects of the College’s training restaurant, East Avenue.

As the Restaurant Manager you will help to provide an industry standard working environment that will enable students to successfully complete their vocational programmes.

As the restaurant manager you will be a key team member of the College’s Hospitality & Catering area of learning, manage all functions and events within the East Avenue restaurant, act as the East Avenue restaurant licensee and designated premises supervisor. Ideally we are looking for a Restaurant Manager with an assessor’s award and a verifier’s award who will be experienced in assessing students in front of house skills, however full training can be offered to achieve qualified assessor/verifier status.

The College’s Hospitality & Catering area of learning offers programmes for both full-time and part-time students working across all areas of the Hospitality & Catering industry and therefore experience of front of house and kitchen based professional catering would be an advantage. The role will primarily involve working with learners in the age range 16-18 although there will be opportunities to work with adult learners. As the restaurant manager you will have excellent communication and organisational skills coupled with a strong commitment to develop the potential of all learners.

Currently the restaurant is open for daytime service for 32 weeks per year with an additional evening service for 26 weeks of the year. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for supervising both lunchtime and evening services (currently Thursday and Friday evenings).
