This is an exciting opportunity for a confident speaker of Russian with experience of developing language skills in others to join our Russian Department. Russian has been taught at JAGS for over 20 years and we are very proud of our outstanding results.

The postholder will be responsible for delivering weekly oral practice sessions to small groups of Year 11 and Year 13 students. The successful candidate will be able to support and motivate students to develop their skills in preparation for the GCSE and A-level examinations, as well as providing support for students experiencing difficulties and extension activities to stretch the more able.

The ideal candidate will be a fluent speaker of Russian with excellent knowledge of grammar and idiom. Experience of developing language skills in others and of working with children in the UK are essential. A good understanding of the UK educational system and knowledge of public examination specifications in Russian would be an advantage.

The post holder may play a role in conducting cultural activities in school under the guidance of the Head of Department.
