Term time only, plus 5 days

Scale 5 (points 12 – 17)

Across Trinity Multi Academy Trust there is a relentless focus on improvement.  With that vision in mind, we are working in partnership with local providers to deliver a brand new Sixth Form College.  Initially accommodating up to 600 students, it will grow to a capacity of 1000 learners to meet increased demand.  The new provision will be within the multi-million pound refurbishment of the Northgate site in central Halifax; this role will initially be based at Trinity Academy Halifax and will move to the new college in January 2020.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a transformational project, designed to allow more young people to benefit from an outstanding sixth form provision in a state-of-the-art new building.  Aspirations and ambitions are high and the potential huge.

We are now looking for a Safeguarding & Medical Welfare Manager to join our team.  This is a varied role; you will play a key role in child protection processes including acting as an academy Designated Child Protection Officer, managing the medical needs of students in line with academy policy and procedures, maintaining accurate student medical records, co-ordinating programmes of support for identified students within college and supporting the development of programmes which focus on students’ attitudinal and academic development.

What can we offer you?

Full support from a friendly ream

Support with development and career progression

A range of staff benefits including cycle to work scheme, optional health scheme and access to the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.

What we need?

5 or more GCSE’s at grade C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent)

First aid qualification with experience of administering first aid

Experience of successfully working with young people (of a relevant age)

Experience of working in a busy organisation and dealing with confidential matters

Experience of working with young people with medical or other needs would be an advantage but is not essential.

You must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to children and young people, secure in the knowledge that you will be joining an ambitious forward-thinking Academy Trust that sets the standards for our family of schools and academies.

Closing date: 9am Monday 4 November 2019

Interviews: To Be Confirmed

Apply now! For further information on this role, the benefits of working for the trust and how to apply, visit our recruitment website; www.trinitymat.org/all-vacancies.

Trinity Multi Academy Trust is a Diocesan multi academy trust that is open to schools of all faiths and none. The trust is committed to working within a respectful and compassionate environment and exists to serve the students in its care. We encourage all schools within the trust to celebrate their distinctive identity, whilst actively supporting each other to share best practice and their commitment to continual improvement.

In 2010, when Trinity Academy Halifax (TAH) opened in Calderdale, the plan was to address a decade of underperformance at secondary school level. Since then the academy has been rated as ‘outstanding’ twice. It has also established Trinity Institute of Education (formerly Trinity Teaching School Alliance) and the West Yorkshire Maths Hub, both of which have helped to raise pupil performance in hundreds of schools across the country.

In 2015 Trinity MAT was established. It now contains ten academies covering from nursery stage through to post-16, including two brand new secondary schools which opened in September 2021. The MAT has seen numerous educational changes but one thing has remained constant; we know what works, and so we have formed a group of like-minded schools to make a positive difference on a wider scale.

Our people are key to our continued growth and success. There is a relentless focus on improving standards for all children and young people in our care.  Working within the trust gives all staff the opportunity to work with some of the best practitioners and leaders, regardless of your location.

Our improvement strategies are based on clear systems and support, from our outstanding behaviour systems to regular teacher led CPD sessions, the trust recognises the value of empowering staff through quality weekly CPD, training and support. At the heart of our people strategies are the opportunities for staff at all levels to develop and progress their career.
