The role of Safeguarding and Welfare Officer is an exciting new position at the Brian Clarke CofE Academy from September 2024. Working alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will be responsible for the implementation of our safeguarding procedures to ensure that we are doing all that we can to protect and safeguard our students. In addition, the postholder will support students and families through providing an outreach service to those identified by the safeguarding team.

In brief we are looking for:

·        An individual with experience of working in an educational environment or social care background, trained in relevant safeguarding procedures including KCSiE, CSE, Prevent and E-safety.

·        An individual with professional resilience and integrity and the ability to handle confidential issues and material sensitively and appropriately.

  • A professional, flexible, team player who can manage and prioritise their workload, as well as responding to the day-to-day operational needs of the school.
  • A person who is passionate about doing their best for young people.
  • Someone who will inspire students and the staff they work with and build strong relationships with our parents, carers and community partners.

This position will be based at The Brian Clarke CofE Academy but may from time to time require travel as necessary to collaborate with other schools which are all locally based.

The Brian Clarke CE Academy is a new school school for Oldham, providing an excellent education for children and a school community that is a true microcosm of our town - aspirational, multi-cultural, multi-faith and multi-talented.

The school opened with a founding team of staff in September 2022 to 240 young people and will continue to grow annually to a pupil body of 1200.

As we grow it is important that we continue to recruit exceptional staff to achieve our vision and create a genuinely outstanding school for the young people we serve.
