Job overview

Creating Great Futures.

In February 2019 Coulsdon Sixth Form College was incorporated into Croydon College, bringing together both of Croydon’s Ofsted Good Colleges. Our wonderful Couldson campus remains in the heart of Old Coulsdon, having had a complete rebuild, which offers exceptional learning facilities for over 1,100 students, and a fantastic working environment for our staff. Our visions and values ensure that we put our students first and value our staff as our greatest asset. We believe it is through our people that an excellent student experience will be delivered, and this will have a positive impact in our local community.

We are seeking a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer in our Student Services team, which will contribute to our frontline safeguarding response and provide intensive targeted support to students who are at risk of underachieving and/or becoming NEET due to associated issues that may impact their learning. The Coulsdon campus is an exceptional place to work, with staff working collaboratively to ensure the very best outcomes for our students.

The role is key in establishing, maintaining and developing effective relationships that engage students and, if appropriate, their immediate family/carers so that relevant support can be offered.  You will need excellent coordination and communication skills to provide support and guidance to students that are referred to the Student Services Team, including sign posting to external services and making referrals for more targeted support.

Apart from our great location, our wonderful staff and positive culture, we also offer a range of other staff benefits, including generous annual leave and defined benefit pension schemes. We also value staff development and have 7 days a year planned for staff development, including elements of team development, socialisation and staff wellbeing.

If you are as passionate about making a difference, we look forward to receiving your application and joining our great college group.

The College is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive learning community, where we value inclusivity and treat our staff and students as individuals. We offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and welcome applications from a diverse range of individuals.

For successful applicants, the post is subject to enhanced DBS check and other onboarding requirements in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidelines.

Please note CV’s are not accepted – you must apply via our recruitment portal

Application Closing Date: 5th January 2023

Interview / Selection Date: week commencing 16th January 2023
