We are seeking a reliable, dynamic, and responsible person to work as a safeguarding co-ordinator, ensuring the highest levels of child protection at the school. We are willing to consider job share applications.

The role holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day co-ordination and management of safeguarding and Looked After Children. You will act as lead professional for Common Assessment Frameworks where child protection concerns have been raised, and liaise, meet, and plan with other agencies and staff as required. You will also ensure that all school staff have up-to-date training in safeguarding.

You will be able to establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding accordingly to their individual needs. You will need to be highly organised and confident in communicating with a range of different stakeholders.

Jane Austen College is an 11-19 secondary school in the heart of Norwich. We currently have Years 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 within the school and look forward to welcoming a new year group in September. Growing gradually is allowing us to create an exceptional school, with the highest of standards. We are an English specialist school, with an additional post-16 specialism in humanities and the arts. We are also partnered with Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form – the region’s first maths and science specialist sixth form.

In October 2016 we were rated by Ofsted as Outstanding in four out of five areas, with an overall rating of Good.

As part of the Inspiration Trust, the top schools group for secondary progress, we offer high-quality, personalised professional development in addition to excellent career development opportunities.
