Hours:            37.5 per week

Salford City Academy are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to join our Inclusion Team to undertake the role of  Safeguarding Lead to provide a comprehensive safeguarding service for the academy.

This will include responding to day to day safeguarding issues in addition to the provision of support, advice and guidance to ensure that a robust safeguarding and child protection provision is embedded at the Academy.

The  Safeguarding Lead will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the Academy. They will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of children. They will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and child protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police. 

The Safeguarding Lead will take responsibility for looked after and previously looked after children and will take a leadership role in promoting the educational achievement of every looked after and previously looked after child on our Academy’s roll, and ensuring that their personal, emotional and academic needs are prioritised. They will also be the central point of initial contact within the Academy for the external agencies working with these pupils.
