Job overview

The London Academy of Excellence would like to appoint a Safeguarding Officer, a new and important role in the school. LAET's strong pastoral team is deeply committed to student wellbeing and is looking to build the capacity of the safeguarding team even further with this new position as the school grows.


The Safeguarding Officer (SGO) will work closely with the DSL (Deputy Headteacher) and existing safeguarding team which includes a Mental Health Lead, Attendance Lead and SEN Learning Support Assistant. They will also work alongside our two Heads of Year and Deputy Heads of Year in supporting the pastoral needs of students.


In fulfilling this role, the successful candidates will model the values of the school in being academically ambitious and committed to the wellbeing of young people in our unique environment as an academically selective 16-19 school. 


Working hours Term-time only, plus three weeks

The standard working day is 8.00am-5.15pm (plus a one hour break).

Salary Dependent on skills and experience in the range £28,000-£32,000pa.

(Full-time equivalent £32,648-£37,313)

The place for Academic rigour, LAE Tottenham is a 16-19 free school which opened in September 2017 in state of the art premises next to White Hart Lane stadium, offering academically rigorous A Level subjects.

The principal education sponsor, Highgate School, provides significant educational support, including seconded teaching staff. The business sponsor, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, provides funding and employment links.
