The Directors of St Cuthbert’s RC Academy Trust have a great opportunity for an experienced and passionate Safeguarding Officer to join our Trust and to lead on safeguarding within St Charles’ VC Academy. St Charles’ is part of a Trust with seven primary schools and one secondary school, it is a place where we pride ourselves on collaborative working in pursuit of continual development of the organisations, achieving best outcomes for our children.

We are looking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer who is highly organised, emotionally resilient, and able to prioritise often conflicting work demands. The successful candidate will take a lead role in the management and delivery of pastoral support to children, it will be their role to challenge and motivate children and promote self-esteem. The Safeguarding Officer will work in partnership with academy staff, pupils, families and external agencies to ensure the effective development and implementation of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures across the academy. This person would take the lead on promoting a culture of ongoing vigilance to protect and safeguard children across the school/academy and Trust, where everyone is appropriately informed and trained and understands their responsibility to protect and safeguard children.

As there is a requirement to visit and work at different locations, including visiting pupils/families in their home, you must be able to transport yourself efficiently to other sites.

The role will be part of a team whose core purpose is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
