We have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who will play a key role in the ongoing health and welfare of students and staff across Outwood Academy Acklam and Outwood Academy Ormesby.

You will have experience of working with children and/or families within a safeguarding and child protection environment. A committed team worker, you will carry a caseload and work on your own initiative. Time management skills are essential given the variety of this challenging yet rewarding role. Previous experience of working with children and families and with other agencies and recent experience of social services work in child protection is essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual, you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. The purpose of this post is to fulfil our responsibility in the safeguarding of our students and enhance the life chances of our students. 

The successful candidate will possess emotional resilience and the ability to communicate effectively with visitors, staff and students and will be welcoming to all, whilst operating in line with our safeguarding procedures. Please note this position requires driving.

In line with the Government’s announcement, our academy is closed until further notice. However, we are still busily planning ahead for the forthcoming academic year and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. In place of academy-based interviews, we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are still available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible.

Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.
