We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced professional to take up the role of Safeguarding Officer. The Safeguarding Officer will work closely with the academy’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and Safeguarding Team as well as all academy staff, to ensure the effective implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures across the academy.

The successful candidate will provide advice, guidance and support for students and staff whilst working with the pastoral teams to plan and deliver interventions and support where appropriate. You will also need to keep up to date with your own professional development in line with the statutory guidance including Trust policies and Keeping Children Safe in Education to support the delivery of safeguarding training to academy staff.

We are looking for:

  • Educated to Level 3 (A levels / BTEC / Extended Diploma / GNVQ or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk and vulnerability with a particular emphasis on safeguarding in an Educational Environment 
  • Working knowledge of the Children’s Act and Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance

Having recently joined the Redhill Academy Trust, Park Vale Academy, is a newly constructed Academy situated in the Rise Park area of Nottingham. The new school was re-opened on 1st September 2017 to students aged 11 to 16. The school is friendly and forward looking, and determined to accelerate recent improvements in outcomes for all its students.
