Nelson and Colne College Group is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Sales and Recruitment - Schools Liaison Officer to develop our relationships with schools as well as support wider aspects of marketing and events. This role will have responsibility for driving engagement to facilitate recruitment and promote the college-wide curriculum. 

The ideal candidate will be able to create and develop engaging sessions to deliver in schools and liaise with young people and parents, so if you have excellent organisational skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment then this could be your next challenge.

This role will be based at our Nelson & Colne College site, however, travel across Lancashire will be required.


What You Will Be Doing

• Promote/raise awareness of Nelson & Colne College Group’s Post-16 education (A Levels, T Levels, Vocational qualifications and Apprenticeships) to students in key feeder schools within the key catchment area, representing the brand at all times and supporting students in making appropriate choices for their next step

• Coordinate the delivery of an effective school events calendar (from classroom presentations and assemblies, to careers events and workshops as well as organising campus tours and facilitating live chat as and when required), to support recruitment and transition advice and guidance; organising diary dates, delivering engaging presentations/workshops, ensuring appropriate staffing, preparing resources, collating event materials, etc.

• Build effective relationships with key school contacts and delivery partners to maximise promotional opportunities and build essential links with the schools 

• Play a key role in the development and promotion of College recruitment events for different age groups, for example, Year 10 tasters, New Student Days, Open Days, etc. and take responsibility for the effective communication and recruitment to these events via the schools

• Degree Level Qualification in a relevant field

• Experience of delivering engaging presentations

• Experience of developing effective relationships/partnership working

• Experience of developing promotional / information materials

• A good understanding of education and career information

• Experience working with young people

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
