Values and vision

Walsall Blue Coat Academy bases its ideals upon its Christian foundation and strives to introduce Christian aspects of teaching into all that it does.

For instance, during form time each day all students participate in a daily act of worship which includes prayer and time for reflection. Regular meetings are also held for staff and students, during which prayers are said and thoughts are focused on people in need. Certain students are also instrumental in spreading the word of Christianity through, for example, taking assemblies to junior schools.

Walsall Blue Coat Academy also has dedicated itself to striving to foster a caring attitude towards the wider global community. Indeed, each year the school raises money for a charity voted for by all students. In 2015, students raised over £4,400 for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Ofsted

“The curriculum is good and its focus on developing students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding is excellent. The academy prepares students very well for life in modern democratic Britain, and its focus on developing community cohesion is exemplary. Governors and academy sponsors provide very good support for academy leaders.”
