The Hamblin Education Trust was formed in September 2016 comprising Altrincham Grammar School for Boys and North Cestrian School. The Trust is currently expanding.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a selective all-boys school with 1,260 students aged 11-18, designated as Outstanding. In 2016 99% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths. We have a Sixth Form of circa 350 students and in 2016 80% of subject entries were A*/A and B.

Sale High School is a popular and rapidly improving 11-16 mixed gender High School graded as a ‘Good school with Outstanding features’ (June 2015). In 2016, our students surpassed the 60% boundary for at least 5 A*-C Grades including English and Mathematics.

As a school we are recognised for good progress and this year, have been invited to take part in the Parliamentary Review. Sale High School plan to join the Trust from September 2017.

The Hamblin Education Trust are seeking to appoint two suitably qualified and experienced individuals to take up the post of School Business Support Manager.

This is a key role with responsibility for managing, advising and overseeing the work of the Finance, HR and administrative functions within the school, and providing support on Estates and Health & Safety matters.

The successful candidate/s will have: 

  • An accounting qualification, e.g. AAT, and/or a School Business Management qualification; 
  • Experience of financial management and budget monitoring; 
  • Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams; 
  • Experience of working in education, although this is not essential; 
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage a varied workload with conflicting priorities; 
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is an academy school based in Altrincham, Cheshire for boys aged 11-18.

The school was founded in 1912. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a multi-ethnic seven-form entry 11-18 selective Academy School. It caters for boys who have been selected for a grammar school education from a wide area of South Manchester and North Cheshire. The academic results are outstanding and they place the School in the top 20 maintained schools in the country. Our GCSE results are strong in respect of 9/8 grades and our ‘A’ level results in respect of A*/A/B grades. The 2022 Ofsted Report graded the School as ‘Outstanding in all area’.
